WSQ Apply Continuous Process Improvement Techniques

COURSE OUTLINE

The course will cover the following factor:

  • Identify improvement opportunities
  • Carry out continuous improvement activities
  • Follow-through the improvement activities

 

COURSE OBJECTIVES

This course is developed to enable participants to gain skills and knowledge in identifying and carrying out improvement activities in the workplace, as well as how to evaluate and implement different improvement techniques to carry out such processes and how to monitor and follow-through with the implementation.

 

WHO SHOULD ATTEND?

This course is suitable for operational level workers such as machine operators, production floor operators, planners, craftsman and technicians.

 

PREREQUISITES

  • Able to speak, read and write basic English or
  • ESS Workplace Literacy / Numeracy Level 5

 

METHODOLOGY

The course consists of lectures, group discussions, session reviews and work assignment and assessment.

Participants will be awarded the statement of attainment upon successful completion of the course.

 

COURSE FACILITATOR

OH ENG KIONG is a multi-disciplined graduate in business and engineering fields with a Master of Business Administration. He is a certified trainer in WSQ Advanced Certificate in Training and Assessment (ACTA) and WSQ Certified Service Professional (CSP).

He has accumulated more than 25 years of industrial experience as a consultant, trainer and process engineer with multi-national corporations in the manufacturing and service industry.

 

COURSE FEES

Full fees (BEFORE 7% GST): S$380.00

Training grant: S$342.00 (Funding @ 90% of fees)

Amount payable after training grant: S$38.00 + 7% GST = S$40.66

Absentee Payroll: 80% of hourly basic salary, capped at $7.50 per hour.

Class Duration: 2 days, 9am to 6pm

Withdrawal And Refund Of Fees

Applicants who have been accepted into a course and subsequently decide to withdraw from the course are required to serve notice in writing to SAAA Cargo Services Pte Ltd through their respective companies.

Upon receipt of the notice, SAAA Cargo Services Pte Ltd may refund part of the course fee as tabulated below:

Enhanced training support for SMEs

  • 90% course fee subsidy
  • Enhanced absentee payroll funding available at 80% of hourly basic salary capped at $7.50/hr

 

SMEs are defined as companies with (effect from 1 Jan 2014):

(i) at least 30% local shareholding; AND

(ii) Group annual sales turnover of not more than $100 million OR Group employment size of not more than 200 employees

 

Workfare Training Support Scheme:

Companies can apply 95% training grant and 95% absentee payroll for their Singaporean employee (35 years old & above, earning up to $1,900 a month)

 

Funding Eligibility

In order to enjoy the funding, companies and participants need to fulfill the following requirements:

  1. Sponsoring companies must be registered in Singapore
  2. Singapore Citizens or Permanent Residents (PR) of Singapore
  3. Attain at least 75% course attendance
  4. Successfully complete assessment and certified as competent

 

Companies are to submit application via www.skillsconnect.gov.sg to enjoy the funding.
